You should have
reliable communication with at least one airplane in the fly-over
formation.
The obvious choices are cell phones and radios. Is there cell
phone signal at the cemetery? You should drive out and check the day
before the funeral.
A cell phone call from the gravesite to the attentively monitored unicom
on the airport
will work if any of the aircraft have VHF radios.
Business band radio at the
gravesite directly to an aircraft business band is even better. Test
radios, in advance, if possible.
Considering a handheld VHF radio from the
gravesite? See if it has enough power.
It is important that the person at the funeral who is communicating with
the aircraft should be completely out of
earshot of the funeral procession.
Once you know the type or types of radios available in the formation
aircraft, you can decide on your communication method.
